Designed to eliminate or reduce the need for glasses or contact lenses, refractive surgical procedures are a safe and popular choice for those seeking freedom from visual hardware.
Our most popular laser surgery, Laser Assisted In Situ Keratomileusis (LASIK) corrects refractive error by creating a micro thin flap and reshaping the underlying cornea with an excimer laser.
PRK, or Photorefractive Keratectomy, is a treatment that is sometimes recommended for people with thin corneas, as the laser does not penetrate as far into the eye's surface as in LASIK procedures.
SMILE® is an advanced laser eye surgery for patients with myopia (short-sightedness) and astigmatism, a revolutionary procedure that's changing the face of vision correction.

For most treatments, you will be with us for approximately 2 hours. While you are at one of our centres, rest assured that our professional and friendly staff will care for you.
Your post-operative care is just as important for your result as the procedure itself. Your day-one post-operative check will be performed at our clinic.
Our Treatment Process
With10 million successful procedures worldwide, LASIK is our most popular surgery.
During LASIK laser eye surgery, a thin flap of superficial cornea is created and reflected exposing a central area of deeper cornea.
With Lasik our most commonly performed procedure, most patients will see an improvement of their natural eyesight…
Refractive eye surgery aims to reduce or eliminate a person's reliance on corrective lenses.
For your peace of mind, LASERSIGHT offers patients a comprehensive long term commitment for achieving your vision goal. Our 'Vision for Life' program provides you with the reassurance that if a re-treatment is appropriate to maintain optimal distance vision, patients who qualify will receive a re-treatment free of charge for the rest of their life.
To date we have performed over 70000 successful LASIK procedures
99% of Lasersight's patients no longer wear glasses or contact lenses
Our team have trained over 400 fellow surgeons throughout Australia.
Generally, a suitable candidate will be at least 20 years of age, have had a stable vision for the last 12 months, is not pregnant, is free of certain diseases of the cornea and retina and is generally in good health.
Each procedure takes only a few minutes on each eye but you will need to be at the centre for a few hours to ensure all pre- and post-operative checks are carried out.
Most people return to work and drive the day after LASIK surgery.
This depends on your age and what you and the surgeon decide. The goal is for you to throw away your glasses!
This depends on the procedure you have and your work environment. It is possible to have a consultation and surgery on the same day.
Just like a fingerprint, no two eyes are the same. That's why the optimal visual result for your eyes can only be achieved if your eyes are examined, measured and treated uniquely and individually.
