Biography
Dr Ken Ooi is a highly skilled ophthalmologist specialising in cornea and uveitis. Based in Sydney, he is committed to advancing the field of ophthalmology through innovative research and personalized patient care. Dr Ooi’s expertise includes dry eye management, corneal conditions, and complex uveitis cases. With extensive training and academic contributions, he offers patients state-of-the-art solutions for their vision and eye health needs.
Experience
Dr Ooi serves as a Clinical Senior Lecturer at the Save Sight Institute, Sydney Eye Hospital Campus, and a Conjoint Lecturer at the School of Medical Sciences at UNSW. He is an accomplished researcher with multiple grants and holds an international patent for a novel dry eye treatment—Topical Atorvastatin for Blepharitis and Dry Eyes. Actively conducting research on dry eye through the Save Sight Institute, Dr Ooi is committed to developing innovative treatments for ocular conditions. Fluent in German, French, and Cantonese, he provides care to a diverse patient base.
Education & Institute
Dr Ooi completed his medical degree (MBBS) at the University of Adelaide and obtained his Master of Surgery (Ophthalmology) before earning his Fellowship with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (FRANZCO). He pursued advanced clinical research fellowships in cornea at Prince of Wales and Sydney Eye Hospitals and in uveitis at the renowned Moorfields Eye Hospital and Institute of Ophthalmology in London.
